One visit, many assets
Our engineers service different equipment types from different manufacturers in a single visit, so there's less disruption for your staff and residents.
Servicing contracts
One independent team to service, maintain and repair your beds, chairs, couches, trolleys, commodes and hoists, on the schedule that suits you, with one point of contact and one set of records.
Why one contract
Most sites end up with separate service arrangements for beds, hoists and everything else. Bringing it together saves time, money and admin.
Our engineers service different equipment types from different manufacturers in a single visit, so there's less disruption for your staff and residents.
Planned preventive maintenance reduces emergency call-outs and extends equipment life. Our free survey shows you exactly where you could save compared with your current supplier.
One contract, one contact, one schedule and one set of electronic reports and updated asset lists across your whole estate.
Keeping your equipment monitored and tested is essential for sites large and small. It keeps assets in service for longer, avoids expensive emergency repairs and gives you peace of mind that equipment is safe for residents, patients and staff.
Shepherd provides planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and repairs for the everyday equipment care settings depend on, from a handful of items in a single care home to hundreds of assets across an NHS trust.

Every site is different, so every contract is built around your equipment and the way you work:
Our engineers carry an extensive range of spare parts, allowing them to repair equipment on the first visit, even for items that weren't scheduled. As an independent company with links to the major manufacturers, we hold the technical manuals and up-to-date parts lists and only fit authentic parts from the original manufacturer or a recommended producer. Before an engineer is even booked, our team can often help your staff with first-level fault finding over the phone.
We recommend asset tagging for all rolling contracts. Every item is barcoded on the first visit. After each visit you get a full electronic report and an updated asset list, giving you a transparent audit history for every asset.
All Shepherd staff carry identification, are DBS-checked and wear our standard uniform. Our continual professional development policy keeps engineers current with legislation, good practice and new products, and our management team monitors the MHRA and manufacturers for device alerts and safety updates. Work is regularly checked by senior managers to keep standards high.
From our base in Lee-on-the-Solent, between Gosport and Fareham, we service equipment for care homes, hospitals, local authorities and other sites across Portsmouth, Southampton, Fareham, Gosport, Havant, Winchester, Basingstoke and the Isle of Wight, as well as West Sussex and Dorset, and run contracts for NHS and private-sector clients across the UK.
