Never miss a service date
Every item's service and LOLER history is recorded against its barcode, so it's obvious what's due, overdue or out of use.
Asset tagging
Our own bespoke barcoding and reporting system. Every item tagged, every visit recorded, and your service reports online, ready to log in and download whenever you need them.
Why tag your assets
Missing service dates, lost equipment and incomplete records are common problems on any site without a proper asset register. Asset tagging fixes all three.
Every item's service and LOLER history is recorded against its barcode, so it's obvious what's due, overdue or out of use.
Location is recorded each time an item is scanned, helping you find equipment quickly and spot items that have gone missing.
A complete, transparent history for every asset makes CQC inspections, internal audits and insurance claims far simpler.
Most care homes and hospitals know roughly what equipment they have. Far fewer can say exactly how many beds, hoists, slings and chairs are on site, where each one is, and when each was last serviced or inspected. That gap is how service dates get missed and equipment goes missing.
Shepherd's asset tagging system closes that gap as part of your normal servicing. It's our own bespoke barcoding and reporting system, built for the equipment we look after.
Once a visit is complete, you don't have to wait for us to send anything. Log in to our system and download your service reports, your up-to-date asset list or the full history of any item, whenever you need them for an audit, an inspection or a budget meeting.
Once every asset has a history, patterns become obvious: equipment that's under-used, models that keep failing, and items that cost more to repair than to replace. That helps you make informed decisions about purchasing, reduce losses and avoid buying equipment you already have.
From our base in Lee-on-the-Solent we tag and register equipment for care homes, hospitals and multi-site groups across Portsmouth, Southampton, Fareham, Gosport, Winchester and Basingstoke, as well as West Sussex and Dorset, and for contract clients across the UK.
Asset tagging is recommended for all rolling servicing contracts and works alongside our LOLER inspections and bed servicing, with no separate system for your staff to learn. It's included on your quote, so you know exactly what you're paying for.
The easiest way to start is a free on-site survey: we'll record what you have and show you what a tagged, reported asset register looks like for your site.
How it works
We visit, audit your equipment and asset numbers, send you a written report and look for savings against your current supplier.
A quote for exactly the equipment and service frequency you need. No hidden costs and no minimum number of assets.
Quarterly, six-monthly or annual visits. Engineers carry spare parts so most faults are fixed first time.
Every item barcoded and logged, on our own system, with a bespoke electronic report after each visit that you can log in and download.

On our first visit, the engineer attaches a unique barcode to each item and records its details. On every later visit, they scan the barcode and record the service carried out and any recommended repairs. After each visit, a bespoke electronic report is sent to you.
