Why buy from Shepherd

One team from survey to servicing

Ceiling track hoists take the strain out of transfers and free up floor space. Getting the layout and installation right is what makes them work.

Planned around the room

Straight tracks, H-frame and room-cover systems, laid out around how staff and residents actually use the space.

Fitted by our own engineers

No subcontractors. The engineers who install your system are the same team that will service and examine it.

Ready to use, with the paperwork

A new ceiling hoist needs a thorough examination before it's first used. We carry it out and give you the report.

Ceiling track hoists, supplied and fitted

Ceiling track hoists, also called overhead hoists, make transfers between bed, chair and bathroom safer and easier for residents and staff, and keep floors clear of mobile hoists. We supply and install Molift ceiling track systems, from a single straight track between bed and bathroom to H-frame and room-cover systems that reach every part of a room.

How it works

  1. Survey: an engineer visits, looks at the room, the transfers you need and the ceiling or wall structure, and recommends a layout.
  2. Quote: you get a clear, itemised quote for the track, motor unit, accessories and installation.
  3. Installation: our own engineers fit the system, with minimum disruption to residents and staff.
  4. Examination and handover: LOLER requires a thorough examination of new lifting equipment before it's first used. We carry it out, issue the report and show your staff how to use the system.

Looked after for life

Once your system is installed, it goes straight onto your maintenance schedule. We carry out the six-monthly LOLER examinations and annual ceiling hoist servicing, examine your slings, and repair the system if anything goes wrong, all under one contract with one set of records.

Mobile hoists too

Not every room suits a ceiling track. We also supply mobile hoists, including the Invacare Birdie, along with stand aids and slings to match. See equipment sales and supply.

FAQs

Ceiling hoist installation FAQs

Which ceiling track hoists do you install?

We supply and install Molift ceiling track systems, including straight tracks, H-frame and room-cover systems.

Who carries out the installation?

Our own engineers. The same team then services and examines the system for the rest of its life.

Does a new ceiling hoist need a LOLER examination?

Yes. LOLER requires a thorough examination of new lifting equipment before it's first used, and then at least every six months. We carry out the first examination as part of the installation.

Can you move or extend an existing track?

Ask us. Any track that's moved, extended or altered needs a thorough examination before it goes back into use, and we can do both.
