Questions we're often asked
How often do patient hoists need a LOLER inspection?
Under LOLER 1998, equipment used to lift people, including hoists, stand aids and their slings, must be thoroughly examined by a competent person at least every six months, unless a written scheme of examination sets different intervals. Most providers pair this with an annual service. We can schedule both on the same visit.
Do you service equipment from any manufacturer?
Yes. Our engineers work across all major makes and models, hold the technical manuals and parts lists, and fit authentic parts from the original manufacturer or a recommended producer. One contract can cover your whole equipment mix.
Do I have to sign an annual contract?
No. You can choose quarterly, six-monthly or annual contracts, and we also carry out one-off services, LOLER inspections and repairs on demand.
Is there a minimum number of items?
No. There's no minimum asset count. We look after single care homes as well as hospitals and multi-site groups, and every client gets a personal, bespoke service.
What do I receive after each visit?
Every item is barcoded on our first visit. After each visit you receive a full electronic report covering every asset’s status, the work carried out and any recommended repairs, giving you a transparent audit history for inspections and insurers.
What does the free site survey involve?
An engineer visits your site, records your equipment by type, location and condition, and reviews how it's currently serviced. We then show you where you could save and, if you'd like one, provide a clear itemised quote. There's no charge and no obligation.
